Increase Your Internet Speed Do you know that you never run your computer at full speed from your internet provider? Hard to believe, don't you think? But it's true. If you have Windows XP OS installed on your computer you can't run your internet at full speed because your OS reserves 20% of available bandwidth for its own purposes - checking and downloading automatic updates, error reportings, etc.... How to avoid this and takes controll of complete paying bandwidth? If you own Windows XP Professional this is tip for for broadband and dial-up connections running Windows XP. This is very useful because it's not documented in any help or other support documentation from Microsoft. You can see (and solve) this only in Group Policy Management Console: - log on as Administrator - start Run prompt - type gpedit.msc in Run prompt and click OK (or Enter) - when Group Policy Window pop up expand (with double click) Local Computer Policy - then expand (with double click) Computer Configuration - then expand (with double click) Administrative Templates - then expand (with double click) Network - then expand (with double click) QoS Packet Scheduler - then on right window double click on Limit reservable bandwidth - when Limit reservable bandwidth Properties window pops up check Enabled tab - change Bandwidth limit % to 0 - click OK - restart if needed After that you'll have complete controll of your paying bandwidth.
