Win XP Tips 4: Rename Multiple Files
A new, small, useful feature for win XP conducts with renaming files. I have always wanted the OS to include a way to do a mass file renaming on a multiple files. You are able to rename multiple files at once in WinXP. Its very simple: 1. Choose many files in Explorer, press F2 and rename one of those files to something else. All the chosen files get renamed to the new file name (plus a number added to the end). 2. Thats it. Easy, what you think? I would recommend that you only have the files you wish to rename in the directory your working in. I would also commend that until you get used to this neat little trick that you keep copies of the files in a safe location while your getting the hang of it.
